I want to increase the duration of the ring to 30+ seconds, ideally 90 or 120 seconds. Is this possible ? I have followed the guide on the post below, and tried replacing the "30" with "60" but it appears 30 seconds is the maximum time possible.

30 seconds is the industry allowed maximum.

Any longer will require disabling voicemail completely.

Shouldn't the 30-secs maximum be mentioned on the official forum guide, here?

"How to Lengthen Ringtime on any O2 Mobile"

It should state what happens if you try to set longer than 30-secs (as the drop-menu) gives you the option to set up to 180-secs ...i.e. Does it set at the 30-secs maximum, or does the change just fail completely, or something else?

Yes, Apple's vertical integration I like; but no fanboi, critical eyes kept firmly open.

After phoning CS, the agent said that iPhones have a 30-sec limit... is that correct?

They couldn't comment on 'other phones' (regardless of Android-variant make/model) having a higher up to 180-sec limit as per they offer on the settings page?!... so does Android have a higher 'rings to divert to voicemail' limit available on O2?)

Bloody stupid system, O2 staff are clueless per usual.

30 secs is the GSM official limit, regardless of phone type.

So the same question remains then, again... Why do O2 even offer "180 seconds" on their settings page?

Problems:

A. The settings page states up to 180 seconds, but this is not even possible.

B. You can't actually set 30 seconds (or any other length!), using ANY method I've tried from these forums.

C. O2 fail to ever fix this issue, now spanning over YEARS.

This affects disabled users especially. Not very good is it.

Maybe @Dave-O2 could enlighten us on this?

The 180 seconds is a nonsense figuration

Simple reason being that if you call the mobile when voicemail is off altogether the caller's phone will disconnect automatically after  around 50-60 seconds

Yes precisely, which helps to show that these settings are not setup correctly in the first place. Hence why they don't work properly. 🙄
