SIM locked and PUK not unlocking

Evening! 

I am locked out of my phone (iPhone 15) as I must have incorrectly entered SIM PIN 3 times. Despite having the PUK, it’s not unlocking: on entering PUK, phone asks me to enter then reconfirm new SIM PIN, then it just goes straight back and asks me to enter PUK again. 7 attempts remaining.

 

I spent 40 minutes on phone to o2 support but they didn’t seem able to resolve. They promised an urgent call back but I’ve heard nothing.

 

Very grateful if anyone can advise resolution.

The only solution is a new sim.

Pop in store tomorrow with photo ID.
