Hi,
My bill is showing i'm sending a text message daily to a random number whilst im abroad in the middle east costing 41p each time.
My data roaming is off and I have travel bolt ons on my account.
Please can you explain what is happening? I've been here last year and these messages and charges were not happening then.

You also need to contact O2 and ask them to place the following bars on your account
Bar all Direct to bill debits
Bar Premium rate numbers
Also ask for a "charge to mobile" bar

If you have an iPhone it will be sending silent messages to register for iMessage and or visual voicemail.
The same also applies to Android devices if using visual voicemail.

I don't believe its from a con, It only started happening abroad. I don't enter any competitions etc.
I'm curious as to why its happening this time around and not at all last year. Nothing has changed on my contract.
