Solved: Am I able to get my phone unlocked by o2?

My son recently gave me his old phone from a contract he previously had with o2, he completed the contract and now has a new contract with a new phone.

When I put my Vodafone sim into this phone it says it's locked to o2, is it possible to get this unlocked?
