I've had a message from 02 telling me about the switch off, and that I need to change my phone, and that I have to go to a store before 7th May to do this.  I can't get to a store as I'm housebound, so what do I do?  I've tried contacting 02 on live chat but they're not available.  Any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you.

Look on Amazon as I said originally as you can get a 4G dumb phone for under £30 and HMD 105 4G is £29 on o2....

Have a look on Argos as well...

If you are on PAYG best bet is to look on Amazon, and for a non smartphone device have a look at the Nokia 110 4G

If you really want o2 then speak to the Sales team on 0800 081 0255

Let's start off with the basics as O2 don't always get things right.

1 - PAYG or contract?

2 - Which phone have you got - Make and model?

3 - When did you last have a new sim card?

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Thanks for your replies so far.  I telephoned 02 from my mobile, explained the situation, and after 45 minutes the advisor said he would send me a replacement sim.  He hadn't a clue what I was talking about, even though I spelt it out.  Out of sheer frustration, I had no alternative but to go to the shop, as advised by 02, to sort it out. £40 later in taxi fares, which would have been worth it had the problem been solved, and I still have no updated phone.  The one advised by 02, the HMD105 @ £19 was out of stock, and the next up was £49.99 which is way out of my range. I could have cried. When I got home I sent an email of complaint to 02, explaining all the circumstances, and the time it had taken for me to try and get an upgraded phone, but this was returned as 'undeliverable'.  So, I have no phone, I'm £40 out of pocket and 02 won't talk to me.  My phone is my lifeline, and I'm under threat of it being switched off from 07 May.  Sorry for the whinge, but I just want a working phone that I can afford. Thank you for reading.

Thank you for your reply.  I will look on Amazon and Argos, but do I still need to get a new sim, or can I just put my existing sim in the new phone?  Sorry to sound so daft, but it comes with old age.

It depends on how old the sim is, but most sims are now 4G on PAYG...

I would get the new phone and put the sim in and see what happens...
