Hi my current sim only comes to an end in January 2026, last year I found a really good deal through U-Switch to renew through 2025 but this year checking the deals on Uswitch i see this "Deals not available as upgrades for existing customers"
Has 02 stopped this way to renew as the renewal prices being offered through the O2 site are not worth staying for. Any advice appreciated
thanks

They seem to have closed that upgrade route, @Dino1968 - leaving you to deal with O2 CS to get your old number migrated to your new contract as in here: Guide: Migration & porting into O2
Search here, it has been a hot topic of late:

Don't forget that deal will go up £2.50 in April, factor that into your decision

It isnt o2 that have closed this route, it is USwitch and the like, as they earn commission off every new contract and basically people doing upgrades was earning them nothing across all Networks, so they closed that route down..
At the end of the day the likes of uSwitch are in it for 2 reasons your data and also make a profit...

No factual evidence of this and opinions differ........

You cant do it anymore with Three or Vodafone as well as o2 (EE are no longer on uSwitch), so definitely not an o2 thing...
This shows up when you select a plan

Hi thanks - and wow did not know that it would be problematic to renew my pay monthly o2 contract just because I extended last year through USwtich. Been with o2 8years or so with the same number. So my options are to just find another provider such as giffgaff ?thanks

So why are O2 bending the rules and making it a pain for a cheaper new contract, from the customer's perspective, to have an existing number migrated to it? Of course, that could simply be O2 incompetence, or a by-product of resellers' interface to O2 post-360 rollout...

Have a look at Tesco Mobile as well as others as you can get better deals..
If moving away from o2 based networks then get some PAYG sims to test network coverage

Hi so it is worth calling o2 CS to see if they can offer me a better deal for the next year as my contract is up in January - and the current upgrade offers they are showing on my o2 account are ridiculous high - and 24 months - and by what some have said elsewhere there is maybe not even a chance to do this because I renewed last year through a USWITCH link. If not which is the best mobile provider to go to for a month then look to switch back into o2 with a new contract ? thanks
