phone dropped only has scratches insurance claim?

unfortunately I dropped my new HTC one. it fell out of my pocket while cycling. it has a few dents and chips in the corners now. it works fine. it is fully insured with o2, so is it possible to make a claim and get a replacement?
I am a bit of a perfectionist so even though having a case in it, it having dents in annoys me a lot.

thanks for any advice in advance!

Hi and Welcome to the forum,

I would suggest you invest in some form of case to protect your handset from such minor marks and dints.

02's cover is for accidental damage and an excess fee is payable.

Here is the link ref 02 Insurance.

hi and thanks.
I did have a case on it but that snapped and there are still small dents on the corners.
I was just wondering if anyone else has made a claim and got a replacement just for scratches or dents.

Its a shame the case failed but perhaps if it didn't have it on the damage could have been much worse.

You would need to check the terms of your policy, and see if there is an excess on it, which I would imagine there would be. It is most likely that the excess would be more than the cost of the repair, and I would be surprised if the policy covered cosmetic damage.

I know, bob. I was referring to the possible excess on the policy and my doubts that it would cover cosmetic damage, which is basically what the OP is saying is the problem.

Fair enough.

Hopefully the OP will make the call and update their thread.

I would have thought accidental damage covers this and the excess will be £25 or £60 {Handset dependant}
