appalling o2 coverage

Hi
O2 are starting to annoy me with the total lack of decent network coverage. Not only the lack of 3g/h+ but just the standard 2g signal. I hardly get a signal indoors anymore. The data coverage is appalling and I can watch my phone switch between G and H Constantly to the point where its swapping so much it just doesn't work.
This happens all over. I travel a lot for work and unless I'm in the middle of a large town it hardly works.
Calls disconnect, people can hardly hear you speak.
Truly awful quality. Whats happened o2??? I've been with you since the days of Genie mobile but it wont last much longer.
My wife has the same issue, o2 usually try and blame my phone or that I need a new sim. Half the people I know have the same problems or have left.
The coverage checker is so inaccurate to it must be illegal to be so misleading!
I checked it for center parcs at sherwood, it said good 3g outdoors yet I could hardly get 2g anywhere!

And don't get me started on tugo, terrible app that never works.

Hi and Welcome,

I understand your frustration.

My signal has been up and down for a couple of months now.

02 are improving their network service along with the 4g launch.

Yes the service status is not 100% accurate but i believe none of the other networks offer this service to give you an idea on coverage.

However if by wiping the sim or replacing it has not helped then maybe its time to look at other networks if your not in a contract.

Remember to unlock your phone while on your 02 contract so you can either use it on another more suitable network or it increases its retail resale value. And its free for contract customers.

Just a thought.

before I choose a network i get payg sims to test them out for a week where i live, commute and work.

im not recommending you to part ways with 02 but just airing other avenues.

The other major issue is O2 is the only signal I get at home, others dont work at all.

Im in a situation where switching would certainly allow better usage most places yet I'd have nothing at home.

With o2 it generally works at home but not many other places.

Dont know what to do.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I know you've mentioned TuGo as awful, but it would be a good resolution if it worked for you.

My preference would be to have a stable connection while out and about and rely on my home phone when at home.

TuGo works through wifi. That's the whole point of it. If you have a decent wifi signal then it should work for you.

So what would be your priority ?

Stable Network signal while out and about.

Stable Network signal at home, or use a home phone {if applicable}

My priority woild be for my phone to work where I actually go!

Went to lanzarote last year, full 3g signal at the top of a volcano and had a signal every single place I went.  Its about time we caught up with the 21st century at o2 and put priorities on getting 3g right before offering 4g
