 well, that's a bit of a monument to make people go all through that to try and pre order, only to blast this back at them.

I assume in store can still do switch up pre orders without this coming up

That's a very informative report @viridis ; convinces me to continue to buy handsets direct from the manufacturer. 👍

1, I asked them about the £50 deposit and retaining device as before, she said they can't do that anymore and this is how they do it now. It probably beneficial and easier for pre order bonuses as I can see the switch up and pre order on myo2 already.

2 if you're logged into another device like tablet, iPad, iPhone, you remain logged in until you sign out, allowing you to log into the new device and authorising it via 2 factor authentication

3. Exactly why I consider it to be much worse than the old option

@viridis

Thanks for not laughing at any of my 'dumb' questions. (Particularly the one about google as I was unsure how long that login would remain 😂)

Folk just need to make sure they have a spare phone/device.

Great info. Thanks 😉

Yeah point 1, I’ve had 3 different stores in Belfast confirm the £50 deposit is no longer an option.

curious, was never given the option of handing phone over at point of preorder as I can use my sim in my work dual sim.

So we can agree that the £50 deposit for Switch up Pre-orders is no longer required.

Handing your phone over at point of pre-order seems to vary?

I imagine the option of handing over there and then was introduced purely because of the "red page of death" that happens when you try to switch up online and you're at the device limit. Without handing over in store, it's impossible to do a switch up preorder.

This is my issue… at device limit, so my option is either wait until they launch and hope they have spare stock or hand phone over at point of preorder. Sliding towards hand over at point of preorder to get the better pricing, upgraded storage and reduced cost buds. Will just need to use my work phone as dual sim for hopefully few days.

Yes, that now makes sense. (So you will need another handset, or a dual sim work phone. (to ensure you aren't without a device whilst waiting for your shiny new S25.)

Got it. 😂

This all sounds like another sterling idea and implementation from the Think Tank at o2 @viridis @CorGre @Cleoriff !
