I would like to make a complaint about the shoddy service and lies made by the o2 Guru chat service. Though they use English names the Guru Chat works out of India.
First they messed up my number port from Tmobile to o2. They then tried to make up excuses that it was my fault that the port did not take place. Well that took about 2 hours to resolve until o2 admitted they were at error.
They agreed to credit me with £20 as I had to get another PAC code from Tmobile who charge a full months line rental whether you use the code on day 1 or 30.
The manager said if I top up by £20 she would refund me the money. So I did that only to be told she could not refund me but decided to add £20 credit to my PAYG account.
After a few more hours of discussion with the Guru Complaints chat Manager he agreed that I was advised wrongly but said he could do nothing.
All I asked was for them to refund the £20 that I had already paid o2 as was agreed. But now having spent half a day over this I called up Uk Customer service who said there was no complaints telephone number. I asked for a call back from a manager - but no susprise it didnt happen.
I emailed in a complaint but I doubt anything happens. I am only left with asking my bank to issue a chargeback. I don't want to ever use o2 again. I am going to get my money back and be done with this joke of a company.

It's precisely because they are from India their understanding of English is suspect. What does it mean the word refund to you? Is that the same as a top up credit?
I called customer services, they said as I am making a complaint write in. Thats even after I explained my issue. I asked for a call back from the Manager but guess what none came.
In a store the people use their real names so your reasoining it is easy to find people is just plain wrong. Why do they hide behind false names in the online Guru Chat?

Because you probably wouldn't be able to pronounce the gurus real names. In store you know where they are anyway so hardly the same point.
Refund is a return you can utilise. utalise away!

O2 employ people from all countries here in the UK!
Why do they hide behind false names in the online Guru Chat?
They have the choice, the same as you not using your full name in the forum!

It seems basic understanding of english is lost on o2. A refund is to return to you wat is owed, it is to give back. To construe that with utilise is wrong.
You argued that not showing their real name was to stop people from using social media to identify them. So the point was about identification. Yet this point is moot in a store setting so your original point is invalid.

Tort law deals with situations where a person's behaviour has unfairly caused someone else to suffer loss or harm.
O2 had caused me to suffer loss, so it was nothing less than what I could legally claim was due to me - so passing it off as merely a goodwill gesture is incorrect.

If you want to discuss law, go and find a lawyer, if you want to make a big deal of this you shouldn't be doing it on here.
You will have to wait until your official complaint is resolved.

I find it funny that people criticise a service like Guru chat without being able to back up there own arguments.
How do you know they are India based and not employed in a call centre in the UK?
If you want to also criticise basic understanding of English as you put it then maybe you should also practice what you preach.
O2 have given you £20 credit on your account. You would have to put credit on your phone anyway so not sure I get your issue.

I do apologise, I stand corrected
I wish you the best of luck with your complaint. (Pleasantry comment nothing more)
However I will say "tort law" has been a rather interesting read, so thank you for mentioning it:)
just for refrence from reading tort law it appears I am correct in my orginal description of what you could expect in "compensation"
"The main remedy against tortious loss is compensation in 'damages' or money"
you have been compensated despite it is not how you'd of liked. Nonetheless you have been provided adaquet compensation.
