Want to pay off device but don’t want a new contract

Anonymous

Hi, I’ve got an IPad as well as mobile both on Monthly contracts. I pay £15 per month on each for the devices. I’m £100 off paying for the iPad and just want to pay it off as it’s credit that I don’t need outstanding at the mo. So looking at my options online it says I have to pay and upgrade? I don’t want to upgrade. So I think my best option is to pay it off, keep device and opt for 30 day contract on my sim only? It’s £11 per month but I don’t want to sign up for anymore credit. Is the £11 a one off payment then if a 30 day contract? I’ve no idea what it actually means. I don’t want a contract. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi @Anonymous Are you on Refresh currently? If so you just pay off the device plan and give 30 days notice to cancel airtime . https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-guides/How-does-O2-Refresh-work/ba-p/1014093

If it's a standard contract you can pay it off via My O2 https://www.o2.co.uk/help/account-and-billing

If you have any issues at all then please contact customer services https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

Re sim only contracts. You can find info here. https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/sim-cards/sim-only-deals#deviceType=phone&contractLength=P12M

You can have them for 30 days or 12 months. Plenty of choice. wink

The £11 is a monthly fee but you are only on a 30 day contract which means you can give notice at anytime.

I want to pay off device mainly to have one less debt outstanding so if I sign up for a sim only 30 day contract, I won’t have anymore credit agreements to sign? Is that right?

No, no credit agreements, just a rolling 30 day contract.

Just pay off the device plan and you're free of any further obligations.
