Hi I really need some advice. Myself, my wife and daughter are all on O2. Since the statt of the year inside the house we never get more than one bar signal. Lucky to get 2 bars outside the house. I am constantly missing inportant calls which as someone who is self employee is costing me a lot of money and hassle. What can I do to improve reception? I cant ask people i dont know to wifi call me which is the only way i can currently make or receive calls when at hone. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi @rajkoshal

Have a look at this thread https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/Do-you-have-poor-coverage-signal-Indoors-This-may-help-E...

Also give a thought to downloading this app https://www.o2.co.uk/help/apps/o2-ask

You’ll find a feature called Chats within the O2 Ask app. You can use it to:

  • make calls to UK numbers
  • send and receive texts from UK numbers
  • make and receive calls from other O2 Ask users
  • send and receive texts, pictures, sound clips and audio sticker messages with other O2 Ask users.

You’ll need to be connected to wifi or 4G to use Chats. Just bear in mind that it’ll use your data allowance if you’re not on wifi.

Contacting O2 Ask users

On the Chats page, you’ll see a contacts list of who you can get in touch with using O2 Ask. If you can see an O2 logo next to someone’s name, it means they’re using the app too – so you can call and text them for free, as long as you’re on wifi. Remember that you’ll both need to be connected to the internet to chat over the app.

You can try switching your phone to 2g only when indoors as this is usually a stronger signal but the phone will automatically seek out 3g or 4g in preference.
Also check here to see if there is a fault http://status.o2.co.uk/
Finally, you could divert your mobile to your landline.
