@Law294

You are eligible for two plans whilst travelling to the US

O2 TRAVEL which costs you £6.00 a day WHEN YOU USE IT, and needs to be requested 24 hrs before you leave UK

O2TRAVEL INCLUSIVE which gives you data texts and calls for free BUT is tariff dependent. 50GB of data tariff is not isn't high enough for O2 Travel Inclusive.

Follow on from @Cleoriff's 100% correct advice, it seems Plus Plans are elusive "Available on selected tariffs starting from 10GB, Plus Plans offer a broad range of additional benefits", one of which is Travel Inclusive.

I have asked for a list of plus plans, to no avail here https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly/O2-Pay-Monthly-and-O2-Travel-Inclusive/m-p/1580672/highlig... - it may be that since that announcement in 2021, the goalposts have moved, @Law294 -- worth asking if you intend to call O2 to follow up. If I find more shortly, I will update here. Not ideal as you are in the US now, unless you wish to tether the phones and share data from the working one, if it is allowed on the other phone's data terms.

1 Not all 10 GB and Unlimited tariffs are Plus Plans. Look out for the Plus Plan banner when browsing our shop.

@Law294 Also keep in mind that whatever travel bolt-on you have, you won't be able to do much with it, apart from maybe being able to check your email. O2 throttles their data speeds to 500kps, which is exceedingly slow, and doesn't allow you to do much of anything as far as roaming is concerned. See the Terms & Conditions here:

https://www.o2.co.uk/termsandconditions/mobile/o2travel-paymonthly-terms-and-conditions

If you're not going to be in the US for long it isn't worth getting a US Pay & Go sim from T-Mobile or AT&T. There's plenty of free WiFi available, but you should use a VPN if you're going to take advantage of it.

@Law294

Just to add some general advice:

        *   Make sure data roaming and mobile data is turned on in your phone's settings.

          * Manually search for another network

          * If you have an iPhone change your data APN to "mobile.o2.co.uk"

           * Try toggling Airplane mode on/off (it often helps kickstart things)

           * Drop down to 3G and see if that helps.

           * Contact O2 to see if there are any roaming bars on the account

If you message O2 on Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this.
