Use of phone abroad

Can anyone help please? I live in Northern Ireland, as soon as I leave I loose service and being able to use my phone. Has never worked since got contract 2 years ago but now I travel at least monthly for work so need access. 02 customer service put an international bolt on last week ahead of this weeks trip to Europe but low and behold it doesn't work. Stuck in Rome with no phone which doesn't bode well for work! Relying on WiFi in hotel. Please help!!

The international bolt on only works in the UK if you are calling abroad.

Some other things to try.

Manually search for another network

If you have an iphone change your APN to "mobile.o2.co.uk"

If that doesn't work then contact O2 as you probably have a roaming bar on your account.

Call them on 202 from your mobile or 0344 809 0202 or
