Upgraded today, and now old sim not working

So I've upgraded online today, obviously still waiting for my new phone and sim to arrive, yet o2 in all their wisdom have deactivated my old sim now and I can't use anything on my phone without wifi. Any history of this o2???? I want answers!!

As we are all customers here and have no access to your account I'm afraid you need to contact customer service and ask them to reactivate the simcard. You could try the live chat option.

How silly to deactivate a customers sim before the new one has been received.

Just incase check your sim in another phone as a process of elimination ,and check your Masts here http://status.o2.co.uk

Cheers guys. I'm not going to be able to do anything until after work, and hopefully my new phone will be waiting for me with the new sim by then, but if not I'll follow your tips. Thanks again slight_smile

Of course it might just be a coincidental network outage in your area?

They wouldn't usually deactivate an account as you would have to do a sim swap when you receive the new phone and sim.

Ok strangely it seems I can text and make calls, but cannot access anything requiring data, despite having 2gb still available. This is very strange.

Mast congestion could be playing a part maybe.

Perhaps do ring customer services just to check your account.
