Hello,
I received a text from O2 a few days ago about being out of the minimum contract term.
Moving over from Virgin Mobile just over a year ago meant that I have the airtime discount applied.
This used to be a bolt on, but checking my current bolt ons today, it's dissappeared (although it's always been applied as a discount to the bill, including the most recent bill dated for May 1)...
Am I correct in assumung this discount would continue indefinitely? I had a slight price rise in April, but this was only 60p (and it looks like the discount was increased to account for this).

Did a little bit of digging. The whole thing's a bit funky (mainly I think because of the migration from Virgin Mobile to O2), but managed to contact O2 and ask.
I've seen from other posts that the text is just a standard requirement from Ofcom that O2 needs to send to all customers who have reached the end of their contract.
Now, the Virgin Mobile contract was a 30 day rolling one and digging deep into the myO2 app, it's the same with O2. The '£ xx.xx discount+RPI' bill credit was also there as part of the 'tarrif'.
The person on the webchat insisted that as long as I don't change the tariff (e.g. by 'upgrading'), the components of the tariff won't change, subject to annual RPI increases.
With Volt benefits, there's no point switching (200GB for under £8 is a seriously good deal).
Thank you for your help!

Discounts usually have an end date in line with completing the contract minimum term.
You can re-apply if you're still eligible and choose to upgrade Guide: O2 Open & Friends and Family discounts - How to sign up
Use USwitch
https://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/compare/sim_only_deals/o2/
Choose the deal you want
This will automatically redirect you to the O2 website
Just follow the prompts and choose the UPGRADE option
Complete the deal and nothing on your account changes except the tariff at the new cheaper cost
Payment date is the same and your next bill will be at a cheaper rate and will be made up of the pro rata cost of your old tariff and your new tariff
The change should show in My O2 within 24 hours
Volt benefits will still apply as will possibly a 3 month extra such as Disney+
