I had number A, tried to port it to my new O2 contract

They disconnected the line

I've been told the only way to get the number back is to reactivate the contract - was meant to have a call to do this - even though it involves a credit check etc to reactivate it - no call

Told a PAC code could be an option to port it to another number as well, tried 202 but they want me to verify myself with a text to that number...

Honestly having nothing but issues and no one seems to want to help and I'm getting bounced from pillar to post when I ring up with false promises

At this point, I just want the number back, I don't care how.

Any advice?

They have been very much "wait a bit longer", helpful and polite, don't get me wrong, but no escalating or nothing.
