I will be travelling to Europe and the USA this year. I have unlimited texts, calls and 1gb of data on my contract and have O2 travel as an add on. I have been advised that calls made and received in Europe cost 0.50p per call with a call time of 60mins maximum before higher costs. I do not know the US call rate. I would like a roaming add on that I can take on a monthly basis I.e add month by month in order to reduce this high 50p call rate, any ideas? I am also thinking of taking a local sim via Lebara or similar.

As far as I'm aware, there is no roaming add-on for the US. Depending on which phone you have, you can download the Tu Go app which will enable you to make calls over WiFi using your alloted minutes.
