I upgraded from an iPhoneX to an iPhone11 just before Christmas. The new phone is working fine except for the fact that the phone number hasn't yet transferred to the new machine. I was led to believe that this would happen automatically after 4-5 working days. Should I be doing something positive?

It sounds like the transfer hasn't been processed at all. If you call them (ot live chat) they should be able to migrate the number within 48 hours.
