I’m looking to upgrade my phone early, I have £204 left and I wanted to trade my current phone for the one I want; there’s a 4 week wait?? How do I go about trading it in if I have to wait 4 weeks for my new one would I just wait till it arrives then send it off? Also, is it worth sending it in or going in store? I’ve seen people say they’ve had a quote and then not got what was said..? Thanks!

You need to send it in to o2, take plenty of photos before sending it in, and your device will be appraised against a set of guidelines.  o2 Recycle and the ilk can take the mick sometimes with values, so if it isnt what you are expecting then get the phone back and sell it CEX or another Recycler.

You shouldn't need to send it back till the new phone to arrive

You can always check with the sales team to confirm

message them on Social Media if that works best for you -on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)

Or you can call them on 0800 081 0255

- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

Hi,

thanks so much!! The only problem is I don’t want the new phone if the quote isn’t the same as it’s £68 without the trade in and £55 with it. Can I go in store and trade it in once I have the phone and what can I do if I don’t approve the quote but don’t want the phone? Also it says no upfront cost but I have £204 (soon to be £170 on the 21st) so I have to pay that once the phone arrives as it doesn’t state what I have to do? Thanks!

Hi there @Bp2

Have a look to see if there is a Cex shop near you, you can look on line. Then you have the phone in your hand and get a quote.

It is always tricky to send your phone in, anywhere, for appraisal, never seem to get the same quote after it arrives.  Before sending  you need to take the IMEI number to make sure it is the same phone that it returned, take loads of photos all round to make sure no damage on it especially if returned damaged.

I would not want that worry or hassle.

I don't think you can trade in the phone in an O2 shop it has to be sent, you can telephone them and make sure.

Good luck (make a wise decision)

Best wishes TallTrees

Hiya,

thanks so much! This was super helpful I will check with Cex and see if it’s any better. Just hearing all the stories of people sending their phones to o2 is making me a bit worried 🤦🏼‍♀️ Thanks so much!

You are very welcome @Bp2

Keep your phone with you and get a quote you are happy with ~ good no hassle decision😊

When ready you can organise selling the phone, money in hand.

Lots of best wishes TallTrees
