Forward the text message, including phone number or company name, to 7726. It won’t cost you anything and it means O2 can investigate the sender.

@Steve42 After you report the scam text to 7726, block the number and any other numbers that arrive with a similar text. Here's how to block a number if you don't know how to do it:

A quick google shows that number is being reported elsewhere online, by users on other networks too - they getting the O2 version of the text - so it does seem to be a widespread and concerted effort

07707 seems to be allocated to O2 - so if it's not been ported away you would think O2 could easily block the number for T&C breach

My text originated from *****. After being caught by the TV Licence scam, I thought something might be wrong, so came here, which confirmed it was a scam text. Thanks to all for their posts on this. Happy New Year. Steve.
