Can you remind us what phone your using ?

Some hold onto signal better than others.

What were you using.

Is it possible to check with another phone in your area via friends / family or spare phone ?

Complaints process is here http://www.o2.co.uk/how-to-complain

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.

Has this always been the case?

Have you spoken to Network Services (as opposed to Customer Services) to ask them to check the issues.

Have you tried changing your settings to 2g to see if that improves your signal for calls and texts thus using wifi at home for Internet?

My actual phone signal is ok in kessingland and Lowestoft, i have an HTC phone, but i cant use the internet wtih it even in Lowestoft. Hopeles BT! Phone just says no mobile network, even tho the signal strength seems quite good. i'm swapping to virgin as my friends with the same phone as me have no trouble getting internet even on the cliffs at Kessingland where there is no wifi.

Hello @Anonymous

Have you tried these generic solutions http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-and-Pay-Go/Self-help-guide-Is-the-network-down-for-me-or-everyone/m-p/593752#M59833

Or clean your sim and or have your O2 sim swapped out at an O2 store.

One has to use a Network that supplies good signal.

I hope Virgin Mobile offers you that as you say. I would use one of their payg sims before perhaps signing up on a contract.

You can use a PAC code so you can keep your number http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Discussions-Feedback/Obtaining-a-PAC-Code-from-the-O2-Network/m-p/544270#U544270

And here is a post about how to leave 02.

http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-and-Pay-Go/Cancelling-Your-Contract-A-Guide/m-p/566774/highlight/true#M56526

Lastly unlock your phone by using this form so you can use whatever network sim in it.

It's free to pay monthly customers and £15 for payg (T&C apply)

Good luck. slight_smile

Whilst you may be reviving a 3g h+ signal, if there isn't enough backhaul capacity then you won't be able to use it as well as you would want to.

This will be due to o2's backhaul fibre network lack of capacity and affects many places around the country. (I should know, this is the case across the South West).

Check your status my entering your postcode at status@o2.co.uk and if that says it is ok all you can do is report it via the o2 My Network app but don't expect a speedy resolution. My local mast has been suffering from capacity issues since October and still no resolution from o2.

So its not me alone in this part of the world that is being wholly let down by o2?!!

Finally I don't feel so alone going on about the non service in Norfolk. (yes I know Lowestoft is Suffolk but I'm just over the border).
