Signal getting worse and worse and almost unusable now!!

Anonymous

Hi,

i used to be able to make and receive calls no problem at my place of work, but slowly over the past year or so the signal has gone downa and down and now its mostly unusable and mostly showing no service. and 3G is a thing of the past now.

When i do ever manage to get connected its a terrible connection usually drops after a short period.

Its an iphone 4s and works ok in strong signal areas.

What causes the signal to drop to this low a level? or is it O2 is now over subscribed?

post code BN3 2AB

Read about how the network is changing:

There is some work being done in your area that may help:

Hi,

So is it just too many users then?

12-13 years ago i had a philips flip phone on analogue network cellnet and it never dropped a signal where i work!! then they announced digital network and how much better it was going to be! well its just nothing short of useless at the moment, this started to go bad several years ago to the point where it is now?

Im looking at my phone now and it showing no service! i can't get 3g anymore and just get the E satelite slowwwww connection.

No one as yet has been able to explain to me why this is?

No a mast suffering from that is listed as having congestion problems and that only happens if a nearby mast is down.

The maintenance being done tomorrow may help.

Hi,

Unless the problem mask is still down and has been for the past few years then that's not the problem!

So is it true the more users using the network the signal gets worse?

I'm just trying to work out why it was all good once! And now it's all but useless! All i get when I move into a strong signal area is lots of notifications for all the calls and texts that didn't get through.

on 3g the more users the cell size shrinks on 2g this will not happen and if congestion you have full signal but would get network busy message when calling out on 2g.

If not using data turn 3g off and see if calls etc come through.

If they do then the 3g maybe congested and it needs reeporting to o2.

The removal of the mast at the Royal won't be helping with congestion either.

Hi,

With 3G on i get "no service" when i turn 3G off i occasionally get 1-2 bars of signal, then i dissapears again!!  but i still can't send texts with 1-2 bars it just says error sending message.

I tried TUGO hoping it would be the answer, but thats more buggy than a buggy thing:smileysad:

Other o2 users can't get service here as well, so i doubt its the iphone, but guess i'll have to check.
