Why do I have 12 media messages sent via the SMS message centre when I didn't go abroad or send any roaming texts?

Perhaps contacting Customer Services will shed some light on your question.

from your mobile if on payg : 4445 or 202 if pay monthly.

0844 809 0202 from a landline.

Thanks, will try a call to them. Other responses confused SMS and MMS, but yours should be helpful.

Thank you. I'm new to this smart phone so will become more familiar with what's what soon. I'll phone them as even my daughter (wizard) is confused with my O2 bill!

MMS are media messages and are not included with most accounts although receiving them is free, but you will need a data tariff to send them, I hope I'm not muddying the water.

Oh no! I didn't realise this, just thought a text was a text (unlimited text tarrif) didn't realise it cost to add a picture! Disappointed now as I like attaching up-dayte photos for friends and family. many thanks anyway.

You could download an app like Whatsapp if you have a smartphone and that will just use your data allowance?

Alternatively - email them?
