Rapid use of data

I topped up with a £10.00 bundle which gives me 500mb of data I have received a text saying that my allowance has been used up within 24 hrs. How can this be as I haven't used my phone with any data service other than when connected to the home wi-fi?

Reset your data counter now and check it again in 24 hours to see if the issue has gone.

Some people prefer to turn it off when not in use and to be honest is a good idea if you are on a limited data allowance.
It certainly stops anything using data when not connected to a WiFi hotspot.

With your limited data allowance I would definitely turn off mobile data when you are home or on wifi.  Maybe you need to think about upping your tariff?
