Hey all,
I've got a 36 month device/airtime plan which ends on 13/01/2026, so nowhere near finished, but on my o2 landing page I can see a message saying "good news - you can upgrade today". Does anyone know if this is legitimate?
I've contacted o2 who have advised the upgrade will be free but I am reluctant to do so in case there are any hidden charges due to the fact my contract is not over yet.
I'm not on anything like o2 Switch Up to my knowledge.
Thanks in advance.

Your device plan and airtime are delinked after 24 months, so you can upgrade or change your airtime plan for free.
You will, however, need to continue to pay the device plan payments.
For customers who took out an O2 Refresh contract on or after 17 December 2021
If you decide to end your Airtime Plan within the first 24 months of the Device Plan, you’ll need to pay off your Device Plan in full when you end your contract.
If you're cancelling after 24 months but still within the minimum term of your Device Plan, your Airtime and Device Plans are unlinked. This means you can either; (i) continue paying for your Device Plan in instalments, or (ii) pay off your Device Plan in full.
