I have a private number keep phoning me, I answer and they hang up all most instantly. Can I block private numbers?

You can block all withheld numbers either in your phone settings or with an app like Truecaller, but you can’t be selective so if blocked none will come through at all.

Calls from hospitals, GP surgeries and any large businesses, generally use a central switchboard, so those type of numbers may also show as withheld @Anonymous . So you would miss that type of call if you blocked all..

That's why I wanted to stress that all withheld numbers would be blocked.
It's a sledgehammer to crack a nut approach which may not suit everyone.

True, particularly as a lot of scammers now usually show a number, (Invariably starting with the Manchester code 0161) and those are the ones need blocking/reporting.
