Hi all, I've just preordered the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge... I'm like a kid at christmas, i'm so excited lol

I thought so, I was told a couple of days ago that the discount applies to the airtime plan. I am currently on O2 chat and the guy has told me that the O2 open isn't currently open for the Samsung S7 so I wouldn't be able to use the discount.

It wasn't available immediately when they released the S6 ...but was a few weeks later...

The guy on chat passed me on to his supervisor and he told me I would be eligible for the discount and I can apply it within 28 days of ordering the phone.

It's not uncommon for some new phones to be excluded and I wouldn't rely on live chat to give me the correct info either.

Genuine question..

Why would anyone buy the S7 directly from O2, when Carphone Warehouse are offering the same tariffs for 100s less?

I'm looking at the 5GB tariff. Carphone Warehouse are offering it for upfront cost of £129.99 at £39 a month (totalling at £1065.99), whereas O2 are offering it for £49.99 up front at £49 a month (totalling £1225.99).

You still stay with O2, and stay with the great customer service that O2 keep going on about when I quiz them on this.

I find it a bit odd why anyone would buy from O2.
