Hi,
On the 19th November I received a message from 89999 and it said "to access your latest MegaPromo holiday discunt alerts visit our site at (web site removed)"
At the time I didn't think anything of it and assumed it was some kind of spam message that was until I found out yesterday morning that I had been charged £2.50 for this junk message.
I found out who the provider of this lovely service was and their customer service number and i called them up and explained that I had never subscribed to anything. In fact I looked at the web site after receiving the message at work to find out that in order to have subscribed I would have had to click on the link on the web site. As I'd never been or even heard of this site before that was impossible.
The guy gave me an e-mail address to write to in order to ask for a refund and tell me how I mysteriously got signed up for this and I was told that it would take 24 hours to get a reply.
24 hours has long gone so I just called them up again, to be told that they reply within 48 hours now (alarm bells ring as differing information already) and he didn't even know what e-mail address I would have written to (very suspicious).
The fact that this text message firstly gave no indication of any charges or how to cancel the subscription is I believe a breach of regulations.
If I don't get a reply by tomorrow I'll have to complain to the regulator and also o2 themselves as I refuse to pay any money to scam artists like this.
Any thoughts much appreciated.

Hope you get it sorted.
Usual advice is to contact Mega Promo and ask them to delete your subscription and refund your money. Contact details here ...(they are part of mobile media)
