Hi all,

I’ve been having major issues with my data recently, say the last 3/4 weeks, I can’t even load webpages if I’m on 4g.

Doing numerous speed tests, my upload is normally always faster than my download speed.

I just don’t know what to do and it’s really frustrating me now?

@Hagz1990

Those 2 areas are the busiest. Simple as that.

Yes, as I said, if restricted it would be poor all over.

Your proximity to a tower won't make any speed difference at all.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

They’ve blocked me from certain cell towers then.

I was stood right below one.

Full signal.

Less than 1mbps download speed.

They haven't blocked you from any cell towers @Hagz1990.
There are too many people trying to use them is all, so o2 cuts the rate at which EVERYONE can use their data.
This is why it is better before 7am.
Signal strength and download speed are only marginally linked (in that the worse your signal the slower the speed), but if o2 restrict the flow of data for everyone it doesn't matter if you have 5 bars or 1.

There’s no explanation for it, I still have bad data speeds between 22:00/midnight.

You can tell me the network is still busy then?

They’re blocking me from specific towers.

If that were the case then you would see problems with reception rather than speed @Hagz1990.
Have you tried all of this:
-Your sim in another o2 phone
-Another sim in your phone (this rules out phone/sim issues)
You could also try getting a replacement sim card to see if that is damaged.
Other than that I will tag some of the Gurus to see if they can spot any account issues:

I’ve had a new sim already, tried my sim in another phone and it was still the same, tried another sim in my phone and it was fine.

It’s something with my contract, they’re blocking me from accessing data somehow, but are not telling me.

It’s really frustrating me.

Your phone will automatically try to connect to the tower giving the best signal. O2 don't block you from towers, it's the way your phone is designed to work.
