Hi all,

I’ve been having major issues with my data recently, say the last 3/4 weeks, I can’t even load webpages if I’m on 4g.

Doing numerous speed tests, my upload is normally always faster than my download speed.

I just don’t know what to do and it’s really frustrating me now?

How up to date is the network coverage checker?

For the last few weeks, it’s stated that the network is slow in my area and they’re working on it.

Is that going to be the case?

To be honest, I have noticed a slight drop on network.

The network service checker is refreshed hourly.

https://status.o2.co.uk/

Sometimes masts are repaired more quickly that others but that all depends on various things such as access to the land or buildings where masts are situated. Permission has to be gained prior to work being done.

Edited to add this interesting information...

Check your speed on 3g as it's sometimes faster if the network is congested or is having problems.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

@MI5 no different, I’m rarely getting above 2.5mbps on download, upload is always higher.

@Cleoriff, I’ve contacted o2 and asked if for any reason they’ve throttled my data, and they have said no, but I honestly haven’t got an explanation as to why it would be so slow, apart from it being throttled.

If my data was throttled, would that also give me poor network coverage? I always get 4 bars, but now I struggle to get 2.

Can you check speed at quiet times to see if it improves.

It will help identify where the problem is.

Do you live in the city or rural location?

It never improves, I get it constantly throughout the day.

I live in a small(ish) town down south in Devon.

It’s been like it for 3/4 weeks now and I’m getting rather frustrated 😞
