Hi my mother lives in Spain and we both have iPhone contracts with 02 in the U.K., so I was wondering if we were to call or text each other would it cost either of us to call and to receive calls, text and receive texts

You can call from uk to another uk phone anywhere in the world and it will come out of your allowances.
Your mother is roaming so she will be charged to make calls and send texts but receiving are free.
Your mother can use Tugo over a wifi connection which will use her allowances but I suspect she might have to set that up in uk, but worth trying anyway.

Thx for your advice but I'm not very good with all this so are you saying we can call and text each other for free as she doesn't need her internet on to call or text does she? Sorry to be a pain, dumb blond woman lol 😂 xx

Calls and texts are free for you but either at European or O2 travel rates for mom. Free from her allowances using TU only. Some info here....

You can call and text her as normal as you are at home in uk.
Your mother needs to use Tugo on a wifi connection, she does not have to have mobile data turned on, just a wifi connection http://www.o2.co.uk/apps/tu-go
