Pay as you go text tariff

Anonymous
Not applicable

Why am I charged 14p a text from one UK phone on a UK O2 sim to another UK phone on a UK O2 sim in the UK?

The classic pay as you go tariff advertised on the O2 site is 5p a text. The 14p a text tariff seems to be the international rate.

You can change your tariff in your MyO2 mate.
Just select the classic PAYG tariff and it will switch over.
But, Three 3-2-1 tariff is cheaper wink

Can you check your MyO2 and confirm exactly which tariff you're on ?

Thanks MI5,

Ah, my tariff seems to be a discontinued "Text and call" tariff.

I had naievly assumed that the current advertised pay as you go rates would apply. Looks like O2 are pulling the same trick as banks and building societies do with interest rates.

Thanks for the hints.

Looks like we will be off to Three.

Just switched both my tariff and my wifes. But we'll still be moving to Three when the balance runs out 😉

Thanks again

Good luck mate.
Sorry it was just a short visit, but as Three doesn't have a forum, you might want to remember we are here if you need any help in the future slight_smile
