You have to be 18, credit checked and responsible to obtain a mobile CONTRACT in the first place.
That CONTRACT carries terms that you are obliged to comply with - Standard UK law.
Regardless of "many reasons" (re excuses) the terms should be upheld....
As we all know, O2 are not shy at setting debt collectors onto customers who don't pay, and the number of issues we see on here with people not paying bills manually, on time, is unfathomable.....
If you don't want to / can't / are unable to pay by DD you shouldn't have a contract - No bank would give you a loan with a DD repayment plan so I fail to see the difference here tbh.........
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.

I know this is from all the way back in 2014, but real shame O2 never uphold their contract by reinstating service when a bill is paid, they expect customers to stick to their side of the contract but O2 just do whatever, was this not how it was back in 2014? Because I'm pretty sure it's been this way for many years now and O2 is a joke for doing it. Companies constantly expect customers to stick to contracts while they themselves fail to and then people like you back them up *facepalm* disgusting really.

@02aretheworst People like who? We are all customers. We don't work for O2.

If you only just paid your overdue bill be aware that it can take 48 hours for your payment to clear O2's account. If you're having a problem, you can speak to the Payment Management Team on 0800 902 0217 or 0800 032 5302 If you have no phone to use, download Skype to call either of those numbers for free:

Guide: A Guide to Skype

The opening times are:

Monday to Friday – 8am to 8pm

Saturday – 8am to 6pm
Sunday – 9am to 6pm

You can also reach O2 via social media:
Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB), Twitter (now X) (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW), or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)
