I purchased an o2 PAYG sim on the 23rd December and immediately added a £10 topup, moving it to the 75 minutes/500 texts/250MB data plan.
Since then, I've received several junk texts from o2... from free tickets, discounts on topups to international minutes and other such junk. When I say several... it's probably 18/20 by now. They're not information "your topup was successful" messages either... they're just adverts.
I don't recall ever opting in to receive constant adverts, but I do recall calling 2220 and "opting out" of everything. I have also called customer services twice since and despite them telling me that everything has been removed, I'm still getting them... along with the daft pre-call announcements telling me I've no credit, despite topping up £10.
Seriously o2 - what are you playing at?
Long story short... I've got my PAK code and I'm out of here. Keep the £10. Better yet, donate it to charity.
P.S What's with the password limitations during registration?

Hi,
Sorry to hear of the issues experienced.
I assume you have checked the alternative networks supply a good stable signal where your live, work and commute and your phone is unlocked to accept other network sim cards.
Perhaps give them one last chance and make your thoughts official in writing by e mailing them.

Take care.

Your lucky you got your PAK code; I'm being held ransom by being told I'm "locked" with them until Oct. 2014 even thought I paid for the handset AND paid for the unlocking service!!!
Guessing it's time to go get it unlocked in the high street as it is legal to do.
It feels like I've bought food and are now being told I can't eat any of it. 😞

Hi,
Do you own the iPhone 5s by any chance ?
If you pay off whats remaining of the O2 contract then you can move to where you like via a PAC Code if you want to keep your number.
Always talk to O2 through uk CS via 202 contract or 4445 Payg for account enquiries.
