O2 upgrade during number port

Hi I'm on pay monthly sim only with o2 and get bad coverage both at work and at home. I got my PAC and was going to move to 3. The coverage with 3 is good at work and the coverage checker said excellent coverage at home. However when I got my 3 sim sent to work I hastily rang them to initiate the number port without waiting til I tested it everywhere first (stupid I know). It turned out the signal was non existent at home unless I went outside so I immediately rang 3 to tell them and they assured me they would cancel the port and sim only with them. Coincidentally my phone decided to break the next day and after going online it was still saying I was eligible to upgrade and needing a new phone I did (I made sure to get one with Wi-Fi calling to eliminate coverage issues). It turns out that 3 basically lied to me and didn't cancel and went ahead and ported my number to them. Now my o2 number is disconnected and I am facing the possibility of disconnection charges. All I want is my contract reactivated even with a different number. O2 have said they will try and do a PAC reversal I have never heard of this, has anyone else? I can't even return the phone as Car phone Warehouse say they can't return O2 upgrades. Anyone got any advice on what I should do or say to o2? I'm going round in circles and 3 are the worst customer services I have ever encountered so they aren't much help.

You'll have to put your faith in O2 and hope they can reverse it so you can keep your number.
If not, you will be able to get your PAC from Three after 30 days and bring your number back on to O2 then.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I dont even care about my number I just want the contract reactivated with any number. O2 say this isn't possible. I would have thought it would have been easy to reactivate the contract with a new number but apparently not.

Unfortunately not as the number is your contract and you've moved it to Three currently......

Once you port the number it automatically cancels the contract That contract now no longer exists. You need to check if Three charge any fees for a change of mind. If not then take out a new contract with O2, credit check permitting, but I suggest getting an EE P&G sim to check coverage. I don't see the point in going back to O2?
