O2 network down in Droitwich for nearly a week now. Any phone working on the O2 network (O2, Tesco, GiffGaff) almost totally useless. No signal (well, intermittently one bar, but usually no network at all) for calls or Data. Contacted them via live chat - not at all interested. Contacted CEO - not very interested but have written again in the hope that they would accept that they must have someone within the company with some idea of when service is likely to be resumed!! When my contract is finished I'll be off to EE I think..........

Travelling near the mast in question, it never seems like anyone is working on it, so perhaps O2 are expecting it to repair/upgrade itself?
Very poor, O2, very poor!!
Miracle, not with O2. Unfortunately mast repairs can depend on a number of factors including access to the site, parts supply, weather etc.
They are aware and will get it resolved as soon as possible.

That's interesting Woody44. Got any details on number affected, times that you have viewed the mast with no work going on etc? I ask as I'm getting a case together to send to Offcom as I don't believe that the mobile companies contract coverage for such issues is either fair or reasonable. It's time to take them to task and I'm quite happy to get the ball rolling.

I did indeed watch it. But in my opinion the Ofcom investigation failed to take on the relevant legal issues (not unusual for such a wimpy organisation). Ofcom needs continuous pressure (along with equivilent pressures onto MP's etc) to be made to deal with the issues in the best interests of the consumer. I have both the time and the ability to write to both factions continuously.

It's great isn't it?
As reported yesterday (9th), the O2 status checker said:-
Live results for WR9
Sorry we're currently working on a phone mast in this area
You might experience problems making calls, using the internet, or sending/receiving emails.
Updated 16:00 (refreshed hourly). Recent faults might not show yet.
Now the following day (10th) it says:-
Live results for Droitwich, Worcs, England, WR9 9HE
Updated 10:00 (refreshed hourly). Recent faults might not show yet
Now with the best will in the world, if their engineers had been 'working' on the mast yesterday then presumably they would have been aware that it was not actually working? Do O2 actually know very much about their nework??? Still out and they still have no idea when they may get it back. Abject inefficiency......

@Anonymous wrote:Yes I know they are working on the mast - what gets me is that they seem to have absolutely NO idea of when this work will be completed! Any company that undertakes maintenance/installation work with no target completion time or any idea of how long it may take must be a very, very inefficient one......... Mind you - if they have no target times or aims then bags me a job as a technician there - must be a doddle!!
Can I have the full post code @Anonymous ? I'll try and see if I can get a bit more info.

Is this a recent problem? How long left on your contract?
