O2 chat

Hi, has anyone here had any problems with O2 chat not understanding what you want?
Well i have. I went online and asked if was possible to block a phone from working. Sounds straight forward, or so i thought. I posted a very expensive phone back to the shop for a refund, without a SIM i may add, and its been 'lost' in the post for over a month now. Yes yes I know if it was that expensive why didn't I get a courier, well i thought better of the human race.
Anyway i was told by the 'guru' i was talking to that this wasn't a problem, great i thought. He asked my my name three times then my phone number four times then my EMEI number, I was getting very confused as I had already told him that I DO NOT want my SIM blocked as i am still using it every day and is important i need it. He says yes ok. I thought great getting somewhere, he then asks me for my password, now i know my password and it so happens that the ones i gave they were all wrong. Time had gone and i needed to go so was hoping that t
He had done it.
When I had time again i went back online to see if this was done, well it wasn't sooooo to cut an even longer story short i went back on and within 3 hours my SIM was blocked. I was fuming so went back online and was told 24hrs. Well 24hrs has passed so went back on and was told it will be unblocked as a priority between 4-6 hrs its now 10 and im still waiting??????
Anyone shed any light please slight_smile
Thanks

Hi, it doesn't matter if you call from your or any other o2 sim. Just ask someone to lend you for a while, calls are free, I do that often you only need your details and password. Chat is only for general questions, calls about important things like yours. Hope u get all sorted soon.

Hi,

You would be better off speaking to o2's uk customer service people.

202 contract

4445 payg

Live Chat are non Uk outsourced callcentres who are generally ok for low level general enquiries not connected to account issues.

On the off chance, have you tried restarting the phone?

IMEI is placed on the blacklist. The next time a SIM is inserted and it tries to register the IMEI will be triggered and the phone blocked.

This thread is very confusing. My understanding is that the OP's sim was blocked, which shouldn't have happened. The phone hasn't been found. The IMEI wouldn't be associated with the sim, so how did the sim get blocked?

The IMEI would have been associated with the mobile number through the OP's account as the phone would have been, I presume an upgrade or new contract. The OP may even have used his sim in the phone before returning it.

Either way it got lost in translation with webchatSmiley Frustrated
