O2 Roaming Italy

I am actually in Italy for my holidays. On 15th of June I recived this message:
"Welcome to ITALY.
Now, all calls, texts and data you use in our Europe Zone will come out of your normal UK allowance. So roaming in Europe feels just like home. For more info and terms, visit: <www.o2.co.uk/paym/roam-in-eu>.
Call 112 for emergency services across Europe. More for you."

I thought it will be automatically changed from Uk to Italy but I am now just able to use the calls. How can I set my phone for the data?

So, O2 state that speed is unrestricted but in practice it is?

At first they were blatantly lying to customers claiming there were no speed restrictions.
Once we proved without doubt that there were restrictions they changed their story to say that they were in place to protect all users which is clearly complete rubbish.
It's all on the main thread including speed tests with different networks, sims, phones etc and the o2 responses to all the questions and complaints.

@Anonymous  Yes...notice the quote 'We have put temporary measures in place'....Wonder how long these measures will last? End of holiday season probably??
