O2 4G and Terrible Reception!!!

Hi

I upgraded to 4G services on the day they where activated in Birmingham, I upgraded my plan to the 5GB data allowance costing me a big £15 extra on top of my already £27.00 per month plan.

The price isn't my great concern, My great concern is with the fact that the coverage is very poor 1 bar poor in fact in nearly every area I go to where as my O2 3g and 2g signals are always full in these same areas, I spoke to someone from o2 customer care and they said that there was only one mast covering my address and all of the many I also gave to the rep, This said mast is located on a road called Lifford Land which is in the middle of an industrial estate and some 2-3 miles from my location and 1-3 miles from other destinations given, I will say there may be some other mast in South Birmingham but like before even main high streets are poor for coverage even though maps are showing good. Both these high streets containing o2 stores!!!

When will more masts be activated as I'm not too happy with the coverage currently.

P.s when I do get 4G coverage like the other night when I was on Lifford Lane I did experience a very good service indeed, Here is the speedtest.net results: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/623636190

I understand that, But it does get on my nerve when something is hyped up (in this case with coverage) and its doesn't prevail.

I will definatly agree with anyone who says they "will" have kick butt coverage but at the same time, I hope they don't take advantage of this and do still have as many masts as EE enabled not just for coverage but capacity too, I like 40mb but it will surely drop.

O2 will never say what work is being carried out on a particular mast. It could just be a repair, but if you're lucky, it could be that they're carrying out an upgrade. You'll have to keep your fingers crossed. wink

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
