Need to help my elderly father

Hi everyone! My dad is in his late 70s and got his phone stolen on Sunday. I put a block on his number so whoever stole it couldn’t make calls. He’s not very well at the moment so can’t go into the store, but wants A new SIM card to put into an old phone so he can use it over Christmas. How do I go into the store to get him a sim when I’m not the account holder? Is there a way I can be named on his account?

Ps. I have spoken to customer services on the phone and they can send him a new sim but it won’t arrive now until this weekend as it’s Christmas.

Please follow the advice here Guide: Lost or Stolen O2 Device? - How to Report it 

Regarding being named on his account, you can only do this if he is with you and gives permission. So your best bet is to ring customer services with him by your side, and speak to them Guide: How to find help & contact O2 

Once you get the new sim, customer services will need to unbar his account.
