Moving to amsterdam

Anonymous

I've recently paid to upgrade my phone early, I now own an iPhone 6s on £42.50 a month, for 2 years. I'm planning on moving to Amsterdam in Jan(2017) is it possible to continue using my phone at no extra fees, or continue to pay off the monthly contract by transferring to a Dutch SIM card? Keeping the handset and paying it off? Many thanks

You could still use your o2 contract to keep in touch with friends and family back in the UK.
If you used Tu you would just use your UK allowance and it wouldn't cost you any more.

You will need to pay off your device plan and cancel your airtime.
Then get a dutch sim when you move out there.

are O2 unlocking the 6s now aye.

@jessicac-nails, you could also, if your unable to / or don't want to clear the balance in full, continue to pay for the device monthly, but this would cost more in the long run as you would still have to pay for the airtime that your not using.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is Tu?
I took the new contract out just over a month ago, I will continue to pay the monthly bill up until Dec/Jan, if I can pay off the remaining handset fee then. I will only have the tariff left to pay for the following say 14months? (Or could I cancel the tariffs, providing the handset is payed off?) thank you so much slight_smile

Tu (formally known as TuGo) is here http://www.o2.co.uk/apps/tu-go it allows you to use your UK allowances when abroad for free if used over a wifi network or on a phone with a local data sim.
With regard to your refresh contract, if you pay off your handset, you have the option of cancelling all your remaining airtime for free, or you can keep it going at the reduced rate.
