Hi there if I start a 12 month sim only contract, and then at some point see a better 12 month sim only deal, would I be able to move to that sim deal (12 month contract) penalty free ?

It depends whether My O2 is showing you are eligible to UPGRADE. If so you will be able to upgrade to the new tariff penalty free.

Depends where you see the deal. If it is on the likes of U Switch or MSM then you would need to pay off your currents contract

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

The only way of getting out of a sim only contract penalty free is to upgrade to a device and airtime tariff.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

And yet, I've been sim only for years. I generally wait for the sales and upgrade to a new sim only tariff with no penalty whatsoever. If I can do it then so can others. I have never upgraded to a device and airtime tariff.

You have to be coming off a refresh tariff to do that.

Just signing up for a sim only first off won't give you that ability.

For Goodness sake!!!

As I said, I have been a sim only customer for over 10 years. I buy my phone outright.

I have NEVER been on a Refresh tariff with O2. So as I know what I do and you are simply making a presumption, let's just admit that on this occasion, I'm correct. 🙄
