I received my monthly bill and it's saying the balance is £16.50 which is strange because my usual bills are around £40 mark. When I went into the breakdown it says 'balance brought forward -£30.80'.
I'm not sure what that means? Do I only owe £16 or do I owe £30+16=£46? I'm confused as to why I have a minus balance brought forward anyway. I pay monthly by direct debit and although I've never missed a payment I've never paid extra either?
Any help would be great!

Yes you only owe £16.50. You've had a refund or a credit for something. Check in My O2.

Yes, £30.80 has been credited to your account for some reason.
Only you can guess why but your My O2 should give you clues.

I've no idea everything seems to be exactly the same as it was last month/month before and I wasn't credited anything.
Aw well I'm not going to complain if they want to give me money let them at it

No not that I know of?? I had another contract but it ended in May and this is one is completely fresh I changed number and treated it totally seperate. Unless they somehow added the 2 together but I never even said I had contract before so I'm not sure how they would of done that.
