I have an issue that is proving very frustrating.
I have multiple lines and device plans and have had for years.
Back in April one of my device plans disappeared from my app. I was unaware that this was due to a bill having not been paid and I assumed that the device was paid off and the plan had finished.
Roll on to 9th August and the device was IMEI barred.
I was told that the device could only be unbarred once the outstanding balance on the device plan was cleared.
I cleared the balance last week.
When i contacted O2 to get the IMEI unbarred they simply said that because the account number that the device plan was on is closed, it cannot be re opened and the handset unbarred.
Can anyone suggest a way forward ?
Is there a special department I should ask for ?

Social media can be good but need a nudge every so often.
If you get no luck, raise a complaint as a last resort, but this can take up to 8 weeks to resolve.
