Yesterday I made an in app purchase for a game I have installed on my phone. This all went through ok and had an iTunes confirmation etc etc. However I now have an outgoing MMS message charge for the exact same time as the purchase, to a number I don’t recognise but which is an 07... number so looks like a standard UK mobile number. Something tells me this isn’t coincidental, but I have never had any this happen before with in app purchases. The only difference being perhaps that this was for a higher amount of money- would that make a difference? I can’t find anything on o2 or iTunes/Apple about this and wanted to check if anyone has had a similar experience before I go contacting o2 to try and get the charge removed.

I made the purchase using my phone’s own mobile data so wasn’t on an open WiFi network or anything like that.

Thank you.

@Jess863

I haven't got an iphone and never purchase any apps. However, if the charge is significantly higher than usual, then you need to ask O2 about it. (It's obvious you haven't had this happen before)

All numbers for O2 are in this guide Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support

Advice from an O2 Guru regarding a way to get through:

If you call 202, when it comes to the reason you are calling stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.

Press 2 for Everything Else

Press 5 for More Options

Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to anadvisorr.

Press Upgrade, Lost/Stolen if you have to.
