I am told by o2 when I enquirer about details of my account that they cannot tell me unless I can give them the name on my account. This I am unable to do as it would appear to have been changed to a business name by m & j acquisitions . So, under the gdpa, I am now totally unable to access my account or find a contact number for m & j! Because I don't know what my so called business account is!!!! So what do I do now?

i have cancelled my direct debit to o2 but cannot cancel the payments to m & j as they appear to be some sort of direct payment!

what a mess so where do I go from here?.

M &J Aquisitions are a so called Trusted partner of O2

You appear to have taken out a contract with them. Information here

https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/09549999

You can't just cancel direct debits to them if you have taken out a contract with them @German

A lot of threads about this company on the forum...this is one

We had another one of these yesterday.
@Martin-O2 is looking into it for them so hopefully he can help you too.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

You shouldn’t really cancel a direct debit otherwise you will be chased for unpaid debts & a mark on your credit score

Surely it's illegal to change the name on the account without the account holders permission, especially when, by doing so, you restrict probably intentionally, access to that account. Three words...
