Lost phone abroad - trying to get new sim card asap

Hi, I lost my phone while abroad. I've managed to lock it, my concern is now trying to get a new sim ASAP. I've been locked out of my email and WhatsApp accounts as they need the old number working for 2 step verification. I'm in a massive rush as am working here.

Is there any way I can get a friend back home to take my ID into an o2 store, get the sim card working on their phone and then send the verification codes to me as they arrive on sms? Thanks

So you are asking for your friend to stand proxy for verification codes etc.

As most stores want photo ID I don't think your idea will work

You need to report the phone lost or stolen and then O2 will send a replacement SIM to your home address

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@Jaquito Anyone in an O2 store who knows only the rudimentary rules of security will not allow anyone with someone else's ID to pick up a sim with your details on it. Lost sim replacements can only be sent to the address it's registered to.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
