The tablet will use a data only SIM. Your original SIM will disconnect so you won't be able to use your phone unless you replace it with a new contract or a SIM from another network.

 

 

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

It's a forum of customers who can give you their opinion based on experience and knowledge.

It is not O2 customer service, hence no account access.

Your original question was answered, in such, you will lose phone network access as your account will be changed to a data only type tablet account instead of a phone account.

If you wish to retain your phone as it is, you need to apply for an additional tablet account to run alongside your phone account.
