I'm working in Mexico for a while and because of the high costs involved using my mobile, I try not to use my phone, ever. I get by using my works landline phone, but keep my phone on in case someone wants to call me in an emergency.
However, I still get a lot of PPI, life insurance calls etc, although I never answer if the number isn't displayed and I know it's not a family member. My latest bill shows a lot of charges, that vary around 60p, 90p, 120p, for .6 to .9 of a second. Yes, 0.6 of a second. I think I'm being charged for non-answered calls................. from companies that O2 have probably sold my number to.
I tried asking the virtual rep if I am getting charged for non-answered calls, but got nowhere. Anyone on here, know how to help?
Thanks in advance for any help offered, Norm.

Did you switch voicemail off before you went to Mexico?
Unanswered calls shouldn't be charged unless it diverts to an operator or voicemail.

If your phone is on, you're paying international roaming charges, and you are charged for calls whether you answer or not.
